EAST LONGMEADOW To promote the 16th anniversary of Baystate Medical Center's Rays of Hope program for the research and education of breast cancer, Colorful Creations Bead Company is sponsoring a fun contest to raise money for this worthy cause.
In jewelrymaking, the structure we use to display jewelry is called a "bust." For a $20 donation to Rays of Hope, special acrylic busts will be provided to contest participants. Individuals or teams will be given the opportunity to decorate these bust with jewelry, fabric, paint, feathers, sequins . there's no limit to a team's creativity.
Entries in the following categories: Most Glamorous; Most Creative; Most Sentimental; are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 1.
Beginning Oct. 2 and continuing through Halloween, this contest will be judged by popular vote and will be open to the public for voting. There is no charge for voting (vote early, vote often).
The winning "bust" in each category will receive a $50 gift card to Colorful Creations Bead Company. The second place winners will receive a $25 gift card, and third place winners will receive a $10 gift card. Prizes will be awarded Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
Last year's winner in the Funkiest Bust category of the "Show Your Bust" contest.
Participants may choose to donate your decorated bust to be raffled off after the contest.
