SPRINGFIELD – Paying tribute to the Motown Sound this year, the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts (ACWM) will celebrate 2013 ADDY competition entrants and winners at the ADDY Awards Gala April 5 from 6 to 10 p.m., at the Community Music School of Springfield's Robyn Newhouse Hall, 127 State St.
The annual ADDY competition recognizes advertising excellence in all media including print, broadcast, interactive, out-of-home and public service advertising. A total of 173 entries were judged this year from agencies, companies, and individuals in western Massachusetts and the New England region. All will be on display at the gala.
A distinguished panel of advertising experts selected the winners. The panel, all experienced judges on a national level, included John Mulder, president, 3Seed Marketing & Design Studio; Julie Moyer, lead designer, 3Seed Marketing & Design Studio; and William Childs, creative director, The Morning Call Media Group.

, Reminder Publications, The Republican, Zoe Design Works, Sir Speedy and RTH Group, East Longmeadow, the ADDY Award celebration begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, grand buffet and entertainment during entry viewing, followed by a presentation of awards at 7 p.m. with dancing, coffee and dessert following.
Special guests Mahogany, a five-piece show band specializing in the Motown Sound, will also perform during and after the awards presentation.
