|SPRINGFIELD Joel Morse, Director of Partnership Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampden County, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting Feb. 5. His topic will be "What Is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampden County?"|
Morse's position as director of partnership development is to drive growth through cultivation, recruitment, stewardship and support of organizations that can provide sustained volunteer resources.
He emphasizes his job is to spread the word about how you can help enrich the lives of children. Morse's mission is to show employers how they can "empower their employees to become Big Brothers Big Sisters and the subsequent benefits they will see to that, not only in improving the lives of children in their community, but also creating better morale, better teamwork and a happier employee. All this without spending money."
Before coming to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Morse was in the newspaper field for 25 years, 10 of those with The Republican as Advertising Director. He left the Republican in 2006 to re-evaluate his life. He wanted to find a way to make a difference in the lives of others and this revelation brought about his introduction to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue, and is a proud member of Rotary International. The Rotary luncheon with guest speaker Joel Morse is $13 per person and is open to the public.
