WILBRAHAM – Paul Robbins Associates is a Bronze Award winner in the 2012 Summit Creative Award competition in the Fundraising category for his documentary-style video entitled "Rescue Me" produced for the Springfield Friends of the Homeless (FOH).|
This is Robbins' fourth Summit Creative Award, having previously won in 2011 for the Western MA Network to End Homelessness and in 2008 and 2009 for videos he produced for HAPHousing, the region's housing partnership.
"Rescue Me" is a 14-minute video that documents the homelessness crisis in Springfield in the early 2000s when a "tent city" was established on the grounds of St. Michael's Cathedral. The video details the community response that led to the building of the Friends of the Homeless Resource Center on Worthington Street and highlights the journey of two FOH clients. The video can be viewed on the FOH website at www.fohspringfield.org or at www.paulrobbinsassociates.com . This year's panel of international judges included a host of creative directors from design agencies around the world, including Italy, Australia, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Canada, and the United States. Entries in 23 creative categories are judged against a stringent set of standards. During the blind judging events (entering company names are withheld), judges search for innovative and creative concepts, strong execution, and the ability to communicate and persuade.
"Winning a Summit Creative Award is a significant accomplishment. The combination of scrutinizing judges and tough judging criteria ensures that only deserving entries receive recognition," Jocelyn Luciano, executive director for the Summit International Awards, said. This year's entries to the Summit International Awards creative competition came from over 20 countries, including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Denmark, Germany, Greece, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
