'A Day of Healing' planned for those with cancer
SPRINGFIELD The Cancer House of Hope, a Westfield- and Springfield-based cancer support non-profit organization, will co-sponsor an event with the Mercy Medical Center Cancer Support Group and St. Francis Hospital called "A Day of Healing for Those Living with Cancer."
This event is for individuals with cancer as well as caregivers and will provide an opportunity to pause, reflect, learn, share and discover new strengths that emerge from the learned experience of cancer.
Facilitators include Sister Madeleine Joy, SP, BSN, NACC from the Mercy Medical Center Cancer Support Group, Suzanne Nolan, MA, NACC from St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn., and Nancy Ferguson, M.Ed, LCSW from the Cancer House of Hope.
The Cancer House of Hope is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide compassion, support and knowledge to those in Western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut who are living with or have lived with cancer in their lives. The Houses enhance the lives of people with cancer and those who care about them by providing programs and services that address the spectrum of needs throughout the cancer experience.
"A Day of Healing for Those Living with Cancer" will take place on June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Genesis Spiritual Life Center, 53 Mill St., Westfield.
