Bay Path to host women's health talk
LONGMEADOW Bay Path College welcomes Tamar Sella, MD, acting physician-in-charge of the breast imaging center at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, to the Longmeadow campus on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. Co-hosted by Bay Path and the Springfield Chapter of Hadassah, Dr. Sella will speak on the importance of education for women and men of all ages regarding breast cancer. She will touch on current research in Jerusalem and local physicians will be on hand to offer a local perspective. Breast cancer education information will also be made available.
The event will take place in Breck Suite, Wright Hall on the Longmeadow campus, 588 Longmeadow St. The presentation is free and open to the public.
As a physician at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center, Dr. Sella currently runs the center's comprehensive breast imaging facility, which performs the full spectrum of imaging examinations for breast cancer including mammography, ultrasound, MRI and image-guided breast biopsies. She is part of a multidisciplinary team of physicians including oncologists, surgeons, pathologists and radiologists, all dedicated to improving the clinical care of breast cancer patients, and advancing research in this field. She has special interest in breast MRI in high-risk populations, especially women who are breast cancer carriers.
A lecturer at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, Sella has presented at international meetings and published in the leading scientific journals in her field.
