Car show to benefit Shriners Hospital
Sept. 4, 2013
CHICOPEE – On Sept. 8, the Melha Shriners Vintage Auto Club is hosting their 33rd annual car show at the Moose Lodge on Fuller Road in Chicopee. |
This very popular car show which benefits the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include hundreds of cars, food, music, and raffle prizes.
Parking is free. Admission is a $3 donation for spectators and a $10 donation for each show car entry.
Spectators can expect to see a car show that includes street rods, antiques, customs, race cars and more.
The first 200 registered show vehicles will receive a commemorative car show dash plaque to display. Trophies will be awarded for the best cars in their classes.
In addition to the hundreds of great cars on display, the event promises a fun-filled family day with police and fire apparatus that kids love to look at, as well as police demonstrations.
Also at the car show will be the Masonic Child Identification Program. This program allows parents the opportunity to create a kit of identifying materials for their child. This free kit contains a fingerprint card, a physical description, a video, computer disk, or DVD of the child, a dental imprint, and a DNA sample.
The purpose of the kit is to provide critical information to the public and to law enforcement in the event that a child goes missing.
The Shriners clowns will also be on hand to provide laughs for kids of all ages.
“Every year we strive to make this event the best car show ever. We hope everyone can come out to see all the cool vehicles, have some fun and show your support for the Shriners Hospital for Children”, John C. Scribner Jr., president of the Melha Shrine Vintage Auto Club, said.
