Hospice training

HOLYOKE Hospice Life Care is taking applications for our spring training for individuals interested in becoming hospice volunteers. The training will begin April 26 and will meet every Monday morning for five weeks from 9 a.m. to noon at our offices at 113 Hampden St. in Holyoke. Please contact Leslie Hennessey at 533-3923 ext. 1281 for more information.

Hospice volunteers provide a listening ear and companionship to patients, visiting with them in the home and in nursing facilities throughout Hampden and Hampshire counties. Interested individuals will attend our comprehensive training program and will receive ongoing support and education throughout their volunteer experience.

Hospice is also seeking individuals with licensed therapy pets and professionals trained in massage therapy and Reiki.
