|SPRINGFIELD The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) will host its "Out of the Darkness Community Walk" on Sept. 13.|
The Out of the Darkness Community Walk will bring together hundreds of survivors of a suicide loss, people who suffer from depression, people who have survived a suicide attempt and all of their loved ones to share in a morning of healing and empowerment during the tenth annual community walk.
The purpose of the walk is to raise money to heighten awareness, to educate and sponsor local events and conferences. The Western Massachusetts walk will begin at the Jewish Community Center, 1160 Dickinson St. in Springfield, on Sept. 13, beginning at 9 a.m. with a complementary continental breakfast.
