Kindred Hospital Park View names Chief of Medical Staff
SPRINGFIELD Kindred Hospital Park View is pleased to announce that it has named Dr. Bruce M. Meth as Chief of Medical Staff.
Meth received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Harvard College. He obtained his Medical Degree from the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his internship and residency at the San Diego Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif., and completed his pulmonary fellowship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. He remained on active military duty until 1992 before transitioning to the reserves. He retired from the Navy as a Captain in the Naval Reserve.
Meth joined Springfield Medical Associates as a pulmonary and critical care physician, where he currently practices. He has extensive experience in all areas of pulmonary and critical care medicine. He has served on the board of the Western Massachusetts American Lung Association. In addition he is the Medical Director of the Respiratory Therapy School at Springfield Technical Community College and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Kindred Hospitals provide aggressive, specialized interdisciplinary care to medically complex patients who require extended recovery time. Kindred Hospital Park View offers care for patients who are seriously ill with multiple medical problems. Many require ventilator management and weaning, pulmonary care, extensive wound care or dialysis, among other clinical services.
"Medically complex care delivered in the post-acute hospitalization setting is rapidly growing in importance to patient care delivery," Meth said. "As Chief Medical Officer I will work with the Kindred team to provide clinical excellence and strive to provide a top patient experience for those patients who require specialized interdisciplinary care and extended recovery time."
He is an avid athlete enjoying both tennis and football although the latter as a spectator at this point. He lives with his wife, Michelle, and two daughters in Longmeadow.
