Red Cross announces blood drives in August

GREATER SPRINGFIELD — The American Red Cross will hold several community blood drives during the month of August. All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to give blood. Blood donors are needed everyday to ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

In August, all presenting donors in August will receive a coupon for a free 57.6 ounce container of any variety of Turkey Hill SunBrew Iced Tea.

To make an appointment to donate blood, please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or log onto redcrossblood.org.

Blood drives will take place at the following locations:
  • Aug. 1 from 1 to 6 p.m. — Blossoming Acres-Putnam Farms, 249 College Highway, Southwick.

  • August 2 from noon to 7 p.m. — St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 1023 Parker St., Springfield.

  • Aug. 6 from noon to 5 p.m. — Cooley Dickinson Hospital, 30 Locust St., Northampton.

  • Aug. 6 from 1:30 to 7 p.m. — Wesley United Methodist Church, 98 North Maple St., Hadley.

  • August 6 from noon to 6 p.m. — Agawam Senior Center, 954 Main St., Agawam.

  • Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — University of Massachusetts Mullins Center, 200 Commonwealth Ave., Amherst.

  • Aug. 8 from noon to 7 p.m. — Greek Cultural Center, 8 Plainfield St., Springfield.

  • August 8 from 1 to 7 p.m. — Stop & Shop, 470 North Main St., East Longmeadow.

  • August 9 from noon to 7 p.m. — Greek Cultural Center, 8 Plainfield St., Springfield.

  • Aug. 10 from 1 to 6 p.m. — Hampshire Mall, 367 Russell St., Hadley.

  • Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. — FL Roberts Gas Station, 2788 Boston Road, Wilbraham.

  • Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Pacific Lodge of Masons, 99 Main St., Amherst.

  • Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — YMCA of Greater Springfield, 275 Chestnut St., Springfield.

  • August 13 from 1 to 6 p.m. — Big Lots, 178 North King St., Northampton.

  • August 13 from noon to 6 p.m. — South Hadley Public Library, 27 Bardwell St., South Hadley.

  • Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Carrabbas Restaurant, 955 Riverdale St., West Springfield.

  • Aug. 14 from noon to 6 p.m. — Genesis Spiritual Life & Conference Center, 53 Mill St., Westfield.

  • Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Western Massachusetts Hospital, 91 East Mountain Road, Westfield.
