Registration now open for Noble's 5K road race |

WESTFIELD — Registration is now open for the 27th annual Run for a Noble Cause & Walk for Good Health on April 30. Both the 5K road race and walk will begin at 9 a.m., with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Beveridge Pavilion at Stanley Park.
The Run for a Noble Cause is a competitive road race great for all levels of runners from the novice to the serious runner.
The 3.1-mile course is flat out and back through a residential area. A non-competitive walk for fun, The Walk for Good Health, follows the same route as the road race.
Proceeds from the road race are directed to the Noble Hospital Annual Fund.
It costs an enormous amount of money to provide the vast array of services available at Noble, around the clock, 365 days per year.
In the best of times, community hospital net margins are quite low, and meeting the current operating needs, as well as other expenses, is a significant and persistent challenge.
The road race is one of two major community fundraising events hosted by the hospital. The other is the Noble Ball, which takes place in the fall.
Early registration is encouraged. The registration fee is $25 on or before April 15. For seniors 60 years of age and older,the fee is $15. The registration fee is $30 April 16 to April 30 — the day of the race/walk. The registration fee for seniors after April 15 is $20.
Children under the age of 12 are registered free of charge when accompanied by a paying parent or guardian. T-shirts will be available to registrants on a first-come, first-serve basis while inventory is available.
