Southwick Rotary 8K approaches |

SOUTHWICK On Oct. 17, the Southwick Rotary Club will host a 8K Walk-Run-Ride on the Southwick Rail Trail, starting at Congamond Road and proceeding to Depot Street and back.
Rain date is Oct. 24. The purpose of the event is to support local families in need.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. in the Red Riding Hood's Basket parking lot on Congamond Road. The event will start off at noon and will continue until 4 p.m.
All participants are required to make a donation and may also solicit donations in support of the event. Any donation of $20 or more will entitle the participant to receive a tee-shirt, while the supply lasts.

The Greater Southwick Family Support Coalition will disperse the proceeds from the event. The coalition is an in-town assistance program dedicated to providing quality family support services for residents in need.
The Southwick Rotary Club is made up of business and professional men and women working together as volunteers. Rotarians work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto of Service above Self. Benefits of being a Rotarian include serving the community, networking and friendship, while promoting ethics and leadership.
The club meets at Roma Restaurant, College Highway, Southwick, every Wednesday at 6 p.m.
