Support group forming for those who have lost a spouse or partner

HOLYOKE The death of a life partner can be particularly difficult for the loved one left behind. You may feel like you have lost a part of yourself or your identity, it may seem like your life has been shattered into a million pieces, or you may just be feeling numb and alone with your grief.

The Holyoke VNA/Hospice Life Care understands the healing power that sharing can have in a group setting and is, therefore, offering an eight-week session for those who have lost a husband, a wife, a partner or a life-long companion. In addition to open discussion, each session will include centering exercises and time for reflection and education.

This group is free of charge and is limited to 10 participants. A brief screening will be conducted upon registration. Group will meet on March 30, April 6, 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11 and 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Holyoke VNA/Hospice Life Care, 113 Hampden St.

To register call Barb Hyer, bereavement coordinator, at 322-1282 by March 23.
