Water Dance benefits those affected by cancer

SPRINGFIELD — Water Dance for Breast Cancer Survivors is free for breast cancer patients and survivors, their family, friends, and those in bereavement.

This is a 12-week aerobic water fitness and strength program. Standing movement in chest-high water in an indoor pool is suitable for those with limited mobility and those who do not swim. Enroll any time from June 14 to Aug. 31. Weekly classes take place Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. at Sheraton Athletic Club, Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel, fourth floor, One Monarch Place. Water Dance is a dynamic water fitness program where those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer recently or at any time, friends, family, and those in bereavement can enjoy each other's company while exercising to increase cardiovascular fitness, muscle tone, and range of motion. Water is gentle on your joints and buoyant for your spirit.
