YMCA walk at Stanley Park set |
|
WESTFIELD Come and join the YMCA for an approximately 1.5 mile walk through Stanley Park to kick off Stepping Up & Stepping Out Week, led by YMCA Executive Director Gregg Thompson.
The walk will take place Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at the entrance of Stanley Park, across from the Woodward Center.
During the week of Oct. 2 to 9, everyone is encouraged to experience Stepping Up & Stepping Out Week's small change approach that prevents weight gain and enhances health by:
Adding an extra 2,000 steps (or activity equivalent) to your day.
Choosing one smart way to eat 100 fewer calories each day.
The YMCA of Greater Westfield is inspiring families and individuals of all ages to adopt healthy lifestyles by taking small steps.
Our YMCA is tracking the number of steps taken in our community during Stepping Up & Stepping Out Week. The goal is to collectively keep track of the number of steps taken during this week to use as a baseline for next year.
You can be a part of this effort to get Americans moving. Record your steps during the week on the sheet provided at the kick off and return it to the YMCA to be entered into a drawing for a wellness basket.
Call the YMCA of Greater Westfield at 568-8631 to register.
All participants will receive a free registration gift.
For more information, contact Charlene M. Call, member retention and wellness director at 568-8631 ext. 305.
