TENNIS CLUB
The E.L. Tennis Assoc. (ELTA) is sponsoring a Family Tennis Night on May 1 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Enfield Tennis Club in Enfield, Conn. This event will feature tennis fun for all ages and tennis abilities. Games, contests, matches, prizes and pizza included. Suggested donation $8/junior, $10/adult, or $25/family. ELTA is a non-profit organization; donations are tax deductible. Help us grow and improve tennis and the tennis courts in East Longmeadow! MICKEY MANTLE TRYOUTS
E.L. students in grades 9 and 10 interested in playing Mickey Mantle baseball are reminded tryouts are May 1 from 1 - 4 p.m. at ELHS varsity field. Potential players cannot turn 17 before May 1 and must register in the Rec. Dept. office prior to tryouts.
RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
The next regularly scheduled Recreation Commission meeting is May 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rec. Dept. office.
MARLINS SWIM TEAM REMINDER
Registrations for the Marlins summer team are being taken now for ages 6 - 18 in the Rec. Dept. office. Practices begin May 3. Coaches will determine the best practice schedule for your child. Championships at end of July. Questions: call 525-5437.
PINE KNOLL SUMMER CAMP
The E.L. Rec. Dept. is accepting registrations for ages 4 - grade 8 for its Pine Knoll summer camps, running June 28 - Aug. 13. Fees vary by age. Early drop off and late pickup offered. Come into Rec. Dept. office Mon. - Fri., 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. for more info or to register.
PINE KNOLL COUNSELORS
The EL Rec. Dept. will offer the "CIT" (junior counselor) program at Pine Knoll this summer for individuals finishing grades 7 and 8. This is a leadership development program designed to provide hands-on learning as well as educational info. Limited to 20 per session. Begins June 28 for seven weeks, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Mon. - Fri. Spring clean up kick-off event May 8 coordinated by Eagle Scoute applicant Sam Epstein will coordinate teen volunteers willing to assist Longmeadow's senior residents with small spring clean-up projects. WWII REGISTRY OF REMEMBRANCES
Anyone who helped win the war, either a veteran or an American on the home front, is eligible for the Registry of Remembrances. During May, forms will be available at the Adult Center. Enter your own name or that of someone you wish to honor for their service during the war. The Registry of Remembrances will be accessible on site at the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., and online. Free. Call the Adult Center at 565-4150 for more info.

AMERICAN GIRL WORKSHOP
Learn all about Molly McIntire and her friend Emily who stays with her during World War II. Molly loves everything red, white and blue and is very patriotic. In honor of Molly and Emily, participants will make and decorate sparkling star crowns and felt banners. Participants will be able to wear them to watch or march in their local Memorial Day Parade! There will be time for American Girl stories and refreshments before the class ends. American Girl clothes, books and accessories will be for sale at discounted prices. GIRLS LACROSSE CLINIC
First and second grade girls will enjoy running through the basics of introductory lacrosse drills and skills needed by players to be successful in lacrosse. Members of the girls LHS lacrosse team will be providing assistance during this clinic, which is under the direction of LHS coach Steve Dudek. All players are required to provide their own equipment, which should include a stick, goggles and mouth guard. A soft beginner lacrosse ball will be provided.
