The Chicopee Senior Center will be closing at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 and will be closed all day Dec. 25. The center will close at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 31 for the New Year's holiday. The center will reopen at 8 a.m. on Jan. 4.
CARD AND COLLECTIBLE SHOW
The Chicopee Boys and Girls Club will be hosting a collectible show on Jan. 3 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Boys and Girls Club gym, 580 Meadow St. The show featurs coins, sports and non-sports cards, card supplies, autographs, T-shirts, gift items and more. Handicap accessible. Admission $1; children under 10 free. All proceeds to benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Chicopee. For info call Joe at 593-6046.
There is a men's group that meets monthly at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. This group is designed for men who are looking to be a part of a large circle of their peers. The group discusses a variety of topics each month and will be open to topics that a member of the group may wish to discuss. WASHINGTON, D.C. TRIP
The Chicopee Senior Travel Club is going to Washington, D.C., May 13 - 16. Tour includes bus, hotel, six meals, all taxes and gratuities, trip insurance, guided tour of monuments, a Potomac River cruise, evening Marine dress parade, Arlington National Cemetery, Smithsonian, tour the House and Senate (pending approval). CHICOPEE SENIOR MEETING
The Friends of Chicopee Senior Citizens Inc. will host their regular meeting Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. The Friends have made a commitment to raise $2 million toward a new building. If you are interested in this project or any of the other activities of the Friends, come to the meeting. The Friends also collect used cell phones which are redeemed by the National Councils on Aging with the proceeds benefiting the building funds. Hearing services are available on Jan. 8 starting at 1 p.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. A trained audiologist provides a hearing evaluation, hearing aid check and cleaning. Appointments may be made by calling 534-3698.
MASSAGE AVAILABLE AT COA
Chair massage by Gina Welch of Craniosacral and Massage Center Inc. starting at 11 a.m. Jan. 7 at the Council on Aging, 7 Valley View Ct. Appointments are also available on Jan. 15 starting at the same time. Each session is 15 mins. Cost is $10 for those over 60 and $15 for those under 60. A GREAT AND MIGHTY WONDER
The cantata "A Great and Might Wonder" will be performed at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, Conn., on Jan. 3 at 4 p.m. Join us as the St. Bernard Adult and Children's Choirs celebrate the birth of Christ. There will be a reception in Fitzmaurice Hall following the program. All are welcome; there is no admission.
SOCIAL CONNECTION MEETING
The "Social Connection" 50 Plus Group meets Jan. 9 from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Justin Kopec has been playing the piano since he was seven years old and singing along to songs on the radio since he could speak. CENSUS AND DOG LICENSE
The annual census has been mailed to residents. Take the time to fill out and return back to the Town Clerk's Office. Dog license forms are available on the back of the census forms. PAYING TAXES ONLINE
Real estate and personal property taxes are due Jan. 20. Taxes can be paid online at www.southwickma.org. Vital copies and transfer stickers can also be paid online.
The last day for voter registry for the Jan. 19 election is Dec. 30. Absentee applications will be accepted until Jan. 15. Note Town Hall will be closed on Jan. 18, so be sure to file applications by 5 p.m. on Jan. 15. Town Clerk's office will be open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Dec. 30.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
Join our church family for a candlelight service at 11 p.m. on Dec. 24. We will be assembling to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with readings and song. We are the little white church, Christ Church United Methodist, at 222 College Hwy. (near Gillette Corners).

The Italian Culture Center, 56 Margaret St., will offer Italian language classes for eight weeks beginning Jan. 26. WOMEN'S LACROSSE CLINICS
The Westfield State College women's lacrosse team is sponsoring a clinic on two Sundays in February for girls in grades 4 - 12. BEGINNER COMPUTER CLASSES
The W.S. Public Library, 200 Park St., will offer a series of four beginner computer classes for adults during January. The classes will be offered as a Tuesday series, Jan. 5 - 26 from 7 - 9 p.m.; or a Saturday series, Jan. 9 - 30 from 9 - 11 a.m. Registration begins Dec. 28 at 9 a.m. for W.S. residents. The W.S. Public Library, 200 Park St., will close Dec. 24 at noon and will remain closed on Dec. 25. The library will reopen on Dec. 26. The library will again close at noon on Dec. 31 and stay closed through Jan. 1. The library will resume normal operating hours on Jan. 2.
