CULTURAL COUNCIL MEETING
The Agawam Cultural Council is meeting on June 8 at 7 p.m. at the Agawam Public Library, 750 Cooper St. The meeting is open to the public. If you have an interest in providing diverse cultural events for the town, a great opportunity exists with the council. This all-volunteer organization, appointed by the mayor and funded in part by the Mass. Cultural Council, is looking for new members.

The William F. Davitt Ladies Auxiliary Post #625, 374 Front St., will host a spaghetti supper on June 3 from 4 - 6 p.m. Cost: $4.50, adults and seniors; $4 for children under 10 and $4.75 takeouts.
ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP
There will not be an Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group meeting in June. The group will meet on its regular day and time in July. For more info, contact the Chicopee Senior Center at 534-3698.
Beading group meets twice a month at 10 a.m. on Thurs. Next sessions June 10 and 24 in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. Bring your own materials and be open to sharing.

EASY COOKING FOR MEN
Easy Cooking for Men, June 10 at 1 p.m., Council on Aging, 7 Valley View Ct. Easy Cooking for Men is a hands-on workshop that includes preparing and tasting foods. WASHINGTON, D.C. TRIP
Chicopee Parks & Rec. presents a five-day bus trip to Washington, D.C., Oct. 17 - 21. Join Ely and Associates tour guide to the Smithsonian Museum, a guided tour of the White House, Arlington National Cemetery, trip to the International Spy Museum and Mount Vernon Estates and Gardens. CHARITY CLASSIC CAR SHOW
The 12th annual Charity Classic Car Show presented by the Pioneer Valley GTO Assoc. will take place June 6 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Polish American Club, 139 Southwick St. (Rt. 57), Feeding Hills. All makes and models welcome. Proceeds to Shriners Hospital for Children, Relay for Life (Team Angel's Above). Vintage Pontiacs and GTOs, live music with BluesHead Band, Rockin' Ron spinning oldies, best trophies in the Valley, Ames Performance (order your parts and pick them up at the show) and a raffle. PIONEER VALLEY STAMP CLUB
Pioneer Valley Stamp Club will meet on June 8 and 22 at the First United Church of Christ on Route 5 in Longmeadow. Activities include a mini-auction and short meeting. N.R.A. BASIC PISTOL SAFETY
An N.R.A. Basic Pistol Safety Course will be offered at the Holyoke Revolver Club Indoor Range, 431 West Cherry St., on June 19 from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. This is a hands-on shooting experience teaching the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. A National Rifle Assoc. Basic Pistol Course Certificate as well as a State of Mass. Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. Pre-registration is required by June 12. COMMUNITY FUN DAY

TOWN BEACH OPENING
The Southwick Park & Rec. Commission announces that a tentative date for opening the Town Beach is scheduled for July 1. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., seven days a week. Lifeguards will be on duty. For more info contact the commission at 569-5701.

The Springfield Public Schools will host its annual district-wide "Stepping Up to Kindergarten Night" on June 2 from 6 - 7 p.m. at each elementary school for all incoming kindergarten students and their families. This is an opportunity for families to meet school staff, visit a kindergarten classroom and receive an overview of the kindergarten curriculum. All families are welcome.

The Westfield YMCA welcomes Freestylemotions' Martin Lee's New Self Defense Class. Learn and apply the attributes of body strikes, defense moves, pressure points, footwork, partner drills, action and reaction scenario, that all goes into a self defense situation. This five-week training session begins the week of June 22 on Tues. and Thurs. at 7:30 p.m. The class is suitable for ages 14 and older, no skill level required. OPEN HOUSE AT THE DEWEY HOUSE
The public is invited to attend this free annual open house of the 1735 Dewey House, 87 S. Maple St., on June 6 from 1 - 4 p.m. Come see how people lived during Colonial times. Colonial crafters will demonstrate their skills; docents will be there to guide you through; and refreshments will be served. The Dewey House is owned and operated by the Western Hampden Historical Society.
On June 6 at 6 p.m. in the Stanley Park's Beveridge Pavilion the music of Neil Diamond comes alive through the voice of Kenny LaBelle. The Diamond Collection focuses on the early stages of Neil Diamond's career, when his music set the tone for a generation. SUMMER PROGRAM AT YMCA
The YMCA of Greater Westfield will begin member registration for summer classes on June 7. Registration opens to the community on June 9. Classes begin the week of June 21. Class offerings include aerobic and fitness classes, including cycling, cardio kick, Bosu core strength training, Zumba, yoga, yoga ball, body shaping, stretch away stress, Pilates, active older adult fitness classes, pool fitness classes, youth and adult swim lessons, adult writing class, and a wide variety of gymnastics classes and gymnastics team. NEWPORT, R.I. TRIP
The W.S. Park & Rec. Dept. still has a few seats available on their trip to Newport, R.I., on June 12. Bus departs from 26 Central St. at 6:45 a.m. and group will be touring two Newport mansions. The afternoon you will be on your own for lunch and shopping in Newport. Bus will arrive back in W.S. at approx. 8 p.m. Cost is $55. Grace Lutheran Church on Route 20 will host a rummage sale on June 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The proceeds from this sale will be directly contributed to Springfield Habitat for Humanity Gunn Square Project. Clothing, housewares and small furniture items will be featured.
