FOOD FEST WEST
West of the River Chamber of Commerce will host its fourth annual Food Fest West on Nov. 4 at the Crestview Country Club, 281 Shoemaker Lane from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. Proceeds will benefit the West Springfield Partnership for Education, student scholarships and other worthwhile endeavors. CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP
On Nov.17 Gerri Bennett, R.N. will provide info on Alzheimer's and support to help provide the best care for your loved one. DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
The next meeting will be on Nov. 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. Diane Weston, R.N. will provide info on ways to manage your diabetes, help you with your diet plan, provide instruction on the use of a glucometer, info on research and new developments and answer questions. CHOLESTEROL TESTING
On Nov. 10 from 9 a.m.-noon, there will be a cholesterol screening done at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. Screening does not require fasting and will provide total cholesterol results. "LIVING AGAIN"

COUNCIL ON AGING MEETING

HEALTHY HOLIDAY COOKING

FRIENDS OF SENIOR CITIZENS
The Friends of Chicopee Senior Citizens will host their regular meeting Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. The Friends have made a commitment to raise two million dollars towards a new building. If you are interested in this project or any of the other activities of the Friends, come to the meeting. CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Holy Mother of the Rosary Parish sponsors its Christmas Bazaar Nov. 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parish auditorium, 26 Bell St. Delicious, traditional Polish and American food, unique items, game booths, raffles. Free admission.

CRAFT AND VENDOR FAIR

SWEDISH PANCAKE BREAKFAST
On Nov. 6 from 8:30 to 10 a.m., Pilgrim Covenant Church, 605 Salmon Brook St., will host a Swedish pancake breakfast and Scandinavian bake sale. This popular "donation breakfast" is a fundraiser for the church's youth, who are going on a mission trip to build houses in Mexico summer, 2011.

SUFFEIELD PLAYERS AUDITIONS
For two winter productions: "The Lying Kind" and "Vicious Valentines: An Evening of Lovely One-Acts" will take place Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Mapleton Hall, 1305 Mapleton Ave., Suffield, Conn. "The Lying Kind" by Anthony Neilson will be presented as a staged reading on Dec. 3, 4, and 5. "Vicious Valentines," three one-act plays about love, marriage, and remarriage, will be Feb. 10-12, 18-20, 25, and 26. Auditions will involve reading from the scripts. The Farmers' Market at the X, located in the Cyr Arena parking lot inside Forest Park, will continue through November 16th this year. SULLIVAN APPRECIATION DAY
An Appreciation Day in honor of Jim and Peggy Sullivan's 40 years of hosting The Irish Hours radio program will take place Nov. 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the John Boyle O'Reilly Club, 33 Progress Ave. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS

HUNGRY HILL LUNCHEON
The Hungry Hill Center's luncheons will be Nov. 9 (mac and cheese). Following this lunch at 12:30 p.m., Registrar of Deeds, Donald Ashe will discuss the importance of the Homestead Act. The Hungry Hill Neighborhood Council meeting will be Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The City's Medical Reserve Corp advocate will be at this meeting to discuss emergency preparedness. A DAY IN NEW YORK CITY
The W. Springfield Park and Rec. Dept. is sponsoring a bus trip to NYC on Dec. 4. Bus leaves Municipal parking lot at 7:30 a.m.; returns 9:30 p.m. Drops offs and pick up site in NYC to be determined by bus driver. Once in NYC you will be on your own to shop or see a show.
