At 5:11 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2011 Friendly’s filed the voluntary petition in United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. A day after filing for Chapter 11 protection, Harsha Agadi, chairman and CEO of Friendly Ice Cream Corporation, made a clear statement that the ice cream distributor and restaurant chain was not going anywhere.
