Those attending the Westfield International Air Show on Aug. 22 viewed more than 75 static aircraft such as the Douglas C47 Skytrain courtesy of the American Airpower Museum in New York. The aircraft's history is rooted in World War II, when pilots flew the aircraft to deliver paratroopers into combat during the D-Day invasion and is best known for the "Berlin Airlift," delivering supplies to Berliners during the Russian occupation after the war.
