GET OUT THE VOTE FUNDRAISER
The Massachusetts Democratic State Committee will host a GOTV (Get Out The Vote) barbeque/fundraiser on Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Corinne Wingard, 194 Elm St. Funds raised will be used for the Coordinated Campaign and for the MDP Diversity Internship Program. The Agawam Public Library and C/W MAR Inc. will host the Digital Bookmobile, an immersive download experience inside a 74-foot, high-tech tractor trailer on Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Agawam Public Library, 750 Cooper St. Readers of all ages are invited to engage digital downloading through interactive demonstrations and experience the library's audiobook, eBook, music and video download service at this free event.
Guided Walks in Robinson State Park will take place on Aug. 16 from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Guided by Bob Leverett. Meet at James Street entrance (look for signs). GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Bereavement Outreach of St. Stanislaus Basilica will host a Grief Support Group on Aug. 30 at 2:30 p.m. We will meet at the St. Hyacinth Senior Friars Residence at the back of the church parking lot every other month on the last Saturday of the month. IN GOOD COMPANY
In Good Company is a support group for people who are feeling blue or experiencing mild depression. Coming to a support group at the senior center and being with others can help you to feel better. The next meeting will take place on Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. There is no fee for this program. The group is facilitated by a professional who can assist you with coping strategies, info on additional assistance and support. If you would like more info, call 534-3698.
NORMAN ROCKWELL MUSEUM
The Chicopee Senior Travel Club will be traveling to the Berkshires on Sept. 30. Join us for lunch at the historic Red Lion, formerly a stage coach stop, followed by time to stroll along Main Street and browse through the specialty shops. Then follows an afternoon at the all-new Norman Rockwell Museum. We will also visit Rockwell's studio which is loaded with more his paintings, sketches and the tools he used to create his famous works for 25 years. Call the travel desk at 534-3698.
The Chicopee Senior Travel Club is going to the Garde Arts Center in New London to see Celtic Spring, one of the top acts in the finals of "America's Got Talent" on Sept. 23. The 126th Collectible Show, sponsored by the Nativity BVM Parish Council, is Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Nativity Church Hall, 780 Chicopee St. The show will feature coins, cards, autographs, comic books, NASCAR memoribilia and more. ST. MARY'S GUILD TAG SALE

Grandparents Fishing Derby
On Sept. 7 we will host a Grandparents Fishing Derby sponsored by the Western MA Anglers Club and Waste Management at Dufresne Field with all equipment furnished by the Anglers Club and the food will be prepared by the Friends. TRIP TO BRUNELLE'S MARINA
The Southwick Senior Center will be going to Brunelle's Marina in South Hadley on Aug. 26 to enjoy the day, have lunch at the Dockside Restaurant and go on a 70-minute cruise on the Connecticut River. Cost includes the bus to and from, lunch, boat ride and gratuities. There is limited seating so sign up soon.
MOHEGAN SUN TRIP

HUNGRY HILL SENIOR CENTER
Hungry Hill Center will serve a meatloaf dinner on Aug. 12 and a roast turkey dinner on Aug. 26 at noon. Reservations are required one week in advance of the luncheon and can be made by calling the center at 733-9411.
BLOOD PRESSURE READINGS
Chicopee Visiting Nurse Association will have a nurse at the Hungry Hill Center on Aug. 18 from 9 - 11 a.m. Hemoglobin screening, along with blood pressure readings will be offered. This is a free service to area seniors.
EXERCISE CLASSES & LINE DANCING
Low impact aerobic classes at the Hungry Hill Center on Monday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Chair exercise on Monday at 1 p.m. and line dancing on Friday at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome to participate this summer. There is a fee for the low impact aerobic classes only. Classes are sponsored by the city's Department of Elder Affairs. Advance registration is not required. Tell a story or just listen to the stories told by the Springfield Storytellers at their next meeting on Aug. 15 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse, 245 Porter Lake Dr. Sessions are open to all. DISC DOG BENEFIT
Animal Shelter Renovation Inc. will be hosting a local Disc Dog Benefit on Aug. 17 at Stanley Park. Admission is free but donations are welcome. Participant sign up is from 9 - 9:45 a.m. You will be given a dog safe disc to play with and keep. The event will be a basic toss and fetch format. A disc dog free style competition will also take place featuring a two minute acrobatic routine (to music). Cold sandwiches and beverages will be available for purchase.
The public is invited to view an exhibit of "Pictorialism" by Addison in the Jasper Rand Art Museum of the Westfield Athenaeum during the month of August. The exhibit can be seen during regular library hours, Monday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. The library is closed on Saturday during the month of August.

HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING
West River Care will host its next Hospice Volunteer Training Program on Aug. 23 and Sept. 6 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at West River Care, 24 Prospect Ave. Hospice volunteers are required to graduate from a 16 hour training program that is free of charge, but pre-registration is required. There will be a bridge tournament Aug. 16 and 17 at Dante Club, 1198 Memorial Ave., W. Springfield. This tournament will offer players of all levels a chance to compete.
