EAST LONGMEADOW
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Join the E.L. United Methodist Church when the Adult Choir and Chamber Orchestra perform Vivaldi's "Gloria" on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. The church is located at 215 Somers Rd. A reception will follow the performance. Visit www.elumc.org for more information.

HIGH SCHOOL REC. BASKETBALL
The E.L. Rec. Dept. reminds H.S. students that registrations end on Dec. 7 for the H.S. Rec. basketball league teams will be for both boys & girls if enough register. Those in grades 9-12 are eligible to play. Fee is $85. Games will be played with Wilbraham/Monson. Come into the Rec. Dept., Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to register.

CRAFT FAIR
Dec. 15 at the Norcross House, 89 Maple St., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the Art Center at the Norcross House. Local crafters will donate items for the raffle. Please stop in for any last minute Christmas shopping. There is something to please everyone.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Dec. 9, 9 a.m. - noon at St. Michael's K of C #9960. St. Michael's Family Life Committee invite you to their fourth annual event at the St. Michael's Parish Center on Somers Road. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, hot chocolate, coffee & juice. Adults $5, children five - 12 $3, children four and younger free! Tickets will be available at the door. Children are reminded to bring their wish lists for Santa, and be sure they include their name and address on the top of their list. There will also be pictures with Santa, as well as arts and crafts.

SENIOR FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The E.L. Senior Friendship Club will be entertained by Gary Lundgren's Honky Tonk on Dec. 6 at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St. Luncheon is beef stew w/potatoes, peas and carrots, brussels sprouts and peaches for dessert. CARING CONVERSATIONS
A representative from All About You Professional Home Care will offer a part lecture, part discussion presentation titled "Caring Conversations" on Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant View Senior Center. The goal is to help people learn how to talk to loved ones about difficult topics, such as giving up driving privileges, accepting help or treatment, etc. Free and open to the public.

WALKERS CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON
The Morning Glory Walkers Annual Christmas Luncheon will be held Dec. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at the Elmcrest Country Club. Entertainment will be provided by John DeSousa. Choose from prime rib, stuffed shrimp or Chicken Francaise. Tickets are $10 for paid-up members and $15 for guests. There will be an optional $5 gift exchange. PITCH RETURNING
Pitch will return to the Pleasant View Senior Center each Monday at 1 p.m. beginning Dec. 17. Please note the time has temporarily changed at the room is used for other activities as well. Play will begin promptly at 1 p.m.

PIONEER VALLEY STAMP CLUB
The Pioneer Valley Stamp Club will meet on Dec. 11 at The First United Church of Christ on Route 5 (corner of Longmeadow Street and Williams Street) across from the Community Center - side door on Williams Street, downstairs, far corner room. Activities for the evening include a mini-auction and a short meeting. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a shop and swap. Chief Meteorologist Ed Carroll of WGGB-TV News 40 will speak at the Silver Foxes and Belles meeting, Dec. 5, 1:30 p.m. Carroll will discuss various types of weather patterns and global warming. FAMILY CAROL FESTIVAL
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church presents the Family Carol Festival Dec. 15, 3 p.m., featuring Novi Cantori, The New England Brass Quartet, John Anderson, organ and Allan Taylor, conductor. Reception to follow, all invited. Free admission, children welcome.

RULES COMMITTEE

ITALIAN CLASSES
Stephanie will offer a new eight week series of classes with Beginners meeting at 10 a.m. and Intermediates at noon at the Longmeadow Center on Tuesdays, Jan. 8 - Feb. 26. An enthusiastic and experienced instructor, she creates a fun and knowledgeable experience. $48. Register at 565-4150.

ELEGANT HOLIDAY CARDS
Learn easy folding techniques for creating simple but elegant cards for the holidays known as Iris Paper Folding Cards. This method can be used to make cards for any occasion, either casual or elegant. Melissa, from Michaels, will instruct and provide the supplies for $10 on Dec. 6 from 1 - 3 p.m. Please bring your own scotch tape and scissors. Register at the Longmeadow Adult Center at 565-4150. FLU MAKE-UP CLINIC
On Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. - noon in the Health Room of the Longmeadow Adult Center. Open to Longmeadow residents who are age 50 or older, age 18 or older with chronic medical conditions, caregivers of high risk people or caregivers of children under five years of age and pregnant women. Charge for those not covered by Medicare is $3. No appointment is needed.

BLOOD SUGAR SCREENING
On Dec. 12 from 9 - 10 a.m. in the Longmeadow Adult Center. Please fast for 10-12 hours before the test. Donation of $1 requested to cover testing supplies.

LIVING WELL CHAT GROUP
On Dec. 14 from 10-11 a.m. in the Longmeadow Adult Center. Come for coffee, a healthy snack and conversation about living well. Topic is "The Continuum of Care: Home Care and Beyond." Guest speaker will be Deborah Hollingworth, Licensed Social Worker and Geriatric Resource Advisor at Greater Springfield Senior Services. She is a SHINE (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders) counselor. This chat group is an opportunity to learn and socialize. Facilitator is Denise Perlaky, RN. Pre-registration not needed.

TEENS AND TWEENS WANTED AT STORRS LIBRARY
The Youth Service Department of the Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at the Storrs Library will hold a meeting Dec. 7 from 3:30 - 4 p.m. for teens and tweens grade six through high school for T.A.G. our Teen Advisory Group. The Discovery Room is looking for youth volunteers to become a part of this group. Members of T.A.G. will become involved in the planning and implementing of programs for all ages. Your ideas and enthusiasm can help create programs, book discussions and displays for the Discovery Room. The group meets on a monthly basis. Register by calling the Discovery Room at 565-4182.

"THE CHILDREN'S NUTCRACKER" Tickets on sale now! Performance date is Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. at the LHS auditorium. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Longmeadow Community House at $12 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. All tickets at the door the evening of the performance will be $15.

DISCOUNTED TICKETS TO FALCONS HOCKEY GAMES
The Longmeadow Parks & Rec. Dept. is pleased to announce discounted $11 vouchers for all ages for Springfield Falcons games during the 2007-08 season. TEEN CENTER
Youths in grades 6-8 and their guests are welcome to come and enjoy a supervised evening out on Fridays from 7-10 p.m. at the Greenwood Center. Admission is $7 per person. All students must sign in prior to entry. School dress codes are strictly followed. Teen Center is run and staffed by area college students. Teen center dates are Dec. 7, Jan. 4, 18, Feb. 1, 29, March 14, 28, April 11, May 2, 16 and June 6.

KARATE-SHOTOKAN STYLE
Ages 16 and up. Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation (SKIF) system includes an international standardized syllabus of kihon (basics), kata (forms) and kumite (sparring). A white karate uniform is required for class and can be ordered through the instructor. Class is ongoing every two months for adults, but sign ups are welcome anytime. Tai Chi is a classical Chinese martial art that includes a series of slow, gentle and graceful movements and postures. MUSIC OF ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS
The Music Ministry of Faith United Church invites you to attend a relaxing, concert to prepare your heart for the celebration of Christmas. The Suburban Springfield Exchange Club with hold there 20th Annual Christmas Tree Sale on the weekends of Dec. 8-9 and Dec. 15-16 in East Longmeadow. The location is Heritage Park North parking lot (across from the Stop and Shop on Route 83) and hours of the sale on all days are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. All proceeds benefit projects for the Prevention of Child Abuse. CHORAL GROUP
The Wilbraham Women's Club Choral Group will present a holiday musical program at Grace Union Church on 10 Chapel St. Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. They will also perform for the Wilbraham Women's Club at Wilbraham United Church on Main Street Dec. 13 at 1:15 p.m. and at the Hampden Senior Center in Hampden Dec. 14 at noon.

FESTIVAL OF CHOIRS
The choirs of St. Cecilia's Church will present Festival of Carols, a program of Advent and Christmas music Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. The festival will take place at the church, 42 Main St. and will include seasonal music and sing-along carols. Admission is free and open to the public.

WOMEN'S CLUB
