AGAWAM
CULTURAL COUNCIL MEETING
The Agawam Cultural Council is meeting on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Agawam Public Library, 750 Cooper St. The meeting is open to the public. This all-volunteer organization is charged with bringing educational events and opportunities in the arts, humanities, and sciences to people from Agawam and the surrounding communities. New members are welcome.
BARGAIN BOOK
Friends of the Agawam Senior Center are selling the bargain book "Taste of Western Mass." for dining and activities for the Pioneer Valley. The books sell for $20 each and the proceeds go towards the Friends expansion fund. HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
All are invited to the Captain Charles Leonard House on Dec. 7 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. for a holiday open house to celebrate the season and (near) completion of extensive capital improvement project. The event is free and open to the public.
COPING WITH HOLIDAY STRESS
Karen Mozzer, MSW, LICSW, of New England Geriatrics will present a free seminar on how to cope with holiday stress and depression. The seminar is open to the public and will take place at Heritage Woods Assisted Living on Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. ROTARY'S HOLIDAY CONCERT
The Agawam Rotary Club is pleased to present our annual Holiday Concert featuring Richie Mitnick and Rhapsody in the high school auditorium on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. There will be a number of raffle prizes including two family four packs to Blandford Ski Area. FRIENDS OF SENIOR CITIZENS
The Friends of Chicopee Senior Citizens Inc. will host their regular meeting on Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. in the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct. The Friends have made a commitment to raise $2 million towards a new building. If you are interested in this project or any of the other activities of the Friends, come to the meeting. The Friends also collect used cell phones which are redeemed by the National Councils on Aging with the proceeds benefiting the building funds. Lodge 711 Polish National Alliance of Chicopee will host its annual meeting and election of officers on Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. followed by the Lodge Christmas party at 2:30 p.m. at the Pulaski Club, 13 Norman St., Willimansett. The party will feature the singing of Polish and English Christmas carols. Refreshments and gifts from Santa for members ages 0-14 will be distributed. HAT AND MITTEN DRIVE
Granby Public Library is looking for help as we start our annual "Warm the Heart" campaign. We are accepting donations of new hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, clothing, socks, slippers and underwear from children's sizes to adult XL. We are also looking for new items such as teddy bears, games, puzzles, books, crayons, markers, Play-Doh and small toys for distribution to the Providence Behavioral Hospital Child/Adolescent Unit and the Broderick House of Holyoke. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GATHERING
The Welsh Society of Western New England will host its annual Christmas gathering at the Willits-Hallowell Conference Center of Mt. Holyoke College, 50 College St., South Hadley, on Dec. 6 at noon. ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT
On Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. Wistariahurst Museum will host the annual holiday concert of the New Valley Singers. See Wistariahurst decked out for the holiday season with boughs and holly and listen to old favorites in Belle Skinner's Music Room. New Valley Singers have been performing popular music for over 35 years in the Pioneer Valley. Admission is $7. Light refreshments will be served. There will also be a raffle and a bake sale.

CHURCH DINNER
The Congregational Church of South Hadley Falls will be hosting a dinner on Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. Menu: minestrone soup, tossed salad, pork tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, rolls, homemade cheesecake with blackberry sauce, coffee, tea, milk and juice. Advent Craft Fair
The annual Advent Craft Fair will take place Dec. 5 from 3 - 8 p.m. and Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the First (Center) Congregational Church, 1 Church St., opposite the Town Common. "Breakfast and Photos with Santa Claus" will be sponsored by the Southwick Lions Club and the Southwick Rec. Center on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. - noon at the Rec. Center on Powder Mill Road. The all you can eat breakfast will feature pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, orange juice, coffee, tea and milk. Parents and students are invited to attend MEFA's free comprehensive presentation on college financing. The seminar will be hosted by Springfield Central High School on Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. An experienced MEFA representative will discuss the financial aid process. The seminar will teach parents how to apply for financial aid, compare financial aid award letters, and seek available financing options. Families will receive a seminar booklet which serves as a year-round resource. Time is allowed for questions and answers.
