WEST SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY DELAYS REOPENING The West Springfield Public Library has not reopened on Jan. 7 as scheduled, due to the unanticipated discovery of additional asbestos during carpet replacement. We now anticipate a reopening date of Jan. 19. Book drops will remain open for our patrons' convenience or materials may be dropped off at neighboring libraries. Patrons may still place holds from their home or office computers but will have to choose an alternate library at which to pick up requests. The West Springfield Public Library should not be chosen as a pick up location for holds until we reopen as all items for hold will be canceled or diverted to other libraries until we reopen. Upon reopening we anticipate limited access to some collections and a possible delay in the reopening of the publicly accessible computers. Please call 736-4561 on or after Jan. 19 to confirm availability of collections or services.
