AGAWAM
BIG BAND
The 17-piece Memories "Big Band" dance band will have an open rehearsal at the senior center on June 11 from 7-9 pm. There will be room for dancing and table seating for an evening of music from Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and many of the bands of that were active in the 1940s.

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER
Friends of the Agawam Senior Center will be having a murder mystery dinner on June 19. Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. Donation of $20 per person. Tickets will be sold at the senior center or call Emile Cot at 335-9440. Friends are asking our folks to bake something for our bake sale at the dinner. Call Cot if you are able to help provide a baked good.

BRIDGE GROUP
A new bridge group has formed at the Agawam Senior Center. Join us on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. For more info, call Marian at 783-1971.

COLOR GUARD
The Agawam High School Band is looking for a few young men and women who would like to become Color Guard members. Experience is not necessary; however school spirit is a must. Students interested may call Sue at 786-4789 or Denise at 786-6817.

FRIENDLY'S FUNDRAISER
On June 17 Agawam Friendly's will help support the students of the high school band. Those who eat in or take out between 5 and 8 p.m., Friendly's will donate l0 percent of the proceeds to the band.

CHICOPEE
"TEA AT 2" SOCIAL
Rita Parisi will perform a "Summer Time Tea" ceremony. "Tea at 2" Social creates a graceful and calm atmosphere to socialize and think about friends, community, or even business acquaintances. Traditionally tea is being served with some small tea-time treats such as crustless sandwiches, little pastries and some cake. Tickets and registration available at the senior center. JEWELRY DONATION
If you have jewelry you don't use or need you can donate it to the Sisters of Franciscan Missionary of Assisi on June 27 from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Stanislaus School, 599 Front St. A jewelry specialist will be there to weigh items for value. FLAG RETIREMENT CEREMONY
The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly #2631 from Elder Council #69 will conduct a flag retirement ceremony on flag day, June 14 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, South Street, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome to attend. If you have any unservicable United States flags, bring them for proper disposal.

ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP
On June 17, Gerri Bennett, R.N. will provide info on Alzheimer's and support to help provide the best care for your loved one. The program will meet at the Chicopee Senior Center, 7 Valley View Ct., at 3:30 p.m. There is no cost for this program. If you would like further info or to register, call 534-3698. The Alzheimer's Support Group meets regularly on the third Wednesday of every month.

OCTOBERFEST
Join the Chicopee Senior Travel Club on Oct. 7 for a fun day at Platzl Brauhaus in the Hudson Highlands for their world famous Octoberfest. German entertainment, outdoor activities, luncheon. Depart from the Chicopee Senior Center at 7:30 a.m. and return at 7:30 p.m. The cost includes all gratuities. Call the center Monday-Friday from noon-3 p.m. at 534-3698.

ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS
Enjoy a breathtaking journey through the Adirondack Mountains of New York to the St. Lawrence Seaway and the famous 1,000 Islands. Tour will include a paddle wheel boat cruise among the 1,000 Islands, including a stop at Heart Island to visit Boldt Castle and a tour of the impressive FDR power project in Massena, New York and its Eisenhower Locks, all taxes and gratuities, trip insurance. BAKE, BOOK AND TAG SALE
The Women's Guild of Grace Episcopal Church, corner of Pleasant and Springfield Streets, will hold a bake, book and tag sale on June 12 from 1-5 p.m. and on June 13 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

SPAGHETTI SUPPER
Faith United Methodist Church, 191 Montcalm St. spaghetti supper on June 18 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Cost is $6 or adults; $3 for children eight to 12 and free for children under eight. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, homemade desserts, coffee and cold drinks. Take out is available by calling 533-6093 after 2 p.m. We are handicap accessible to the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary.

LAKE GEORGE CRUISE
Join the Chicopee Parks Dept. and Ely Associates for a trip to beautiful Lake George, New York to board the Lac du Saint Sacremont for a cruise. While cruising the lake listen to live music and enjoy a superb buffet. Enjoy the beautiful foliage that surrounds the shores while the ship's officer gives a narrated tour of the estates and islands in the southern part of the lake. The trip departs at 7:30 a.m. from the old Chicopee High (Chicopee Academy) and returns around 6 p.m. on Oct. 11. Price includes cruise, brunch, transportation and driver tip. TOBACCO VALLEY ARTISTS
The June meeting of the Tobacco Valley Artists Association will be on June 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kent Memorial Library, 50 North Man St., Suffield, CT. This Spring Member Show will feature 50 members' artwork in various media judged by award-winning artist, Shauna Shane, a member of the Lyme Art Association and Connecticut Plein Air Printer Society. The show will include a reception, presentation of awards and elections. Members are welcome to bring in a painting for a positive critique. The public is welcome to attend. The exhibit is on display until June 29.

"SHEAR MADNESS"
St. Mary's Church, 840 Page Blvd., East Springfield, is sponsoring a bus trip to Boston to see the hilarious show "Shear Madness" on July 19. TOUR THE MANSION

ADULT PICK UP FIELD HOCKEY
The Holyoke Parks and Recreation Dept. announces pick-up field hockey for adults at the Roberts' Field Sports Complex on the synthetic field, Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. starting June 25. FASHION SHOW
On June 13 at noon St. Catherine of Sienna Parish Center, 1023 Parker St., will host a fashion show fundraiser. Proceeds go to providing for health needs of people in Tanzania. Jambo Tanzania was founded by Dr. Mary Banda of Mercy Hospital. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost of $25 includes luncheon at 12:30 p.m. There will be a raffle. Fashions are provided by Coldwater Creek. Springfield Rotary Club
Dr. Anthony E. Wolf, nationally known clinical psychologist, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on June 12. His topic will be "How To Improve Relationships" based on his book "Why Can't You Shut Up." The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue. The Rotary luncheon with guest speaker Dr. Anthony E. Wolf is $17 per person and is open to the public.

FALCONS BBQ
The Springfield Falcons will host their third annual Falcons Summer Barbecue on Aug. 19 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the West Springfield/Agawam Elks, 429 Morgan Rd., West Springfield. The event is for ticket package holders and corporate partners. Invitations with R.S.V.P. info will be sent out later this summer.

SPRINGFIELD STORYTELLERS
Looking for something different? Tell a story, or listen to the stories told by the Springfield Storytellers at their next meeting on June 19 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse at 245 Porter Lake Dr. Sessions are open to all. DISABLED VETERANS INFO
So many veterans feel confused about benefits and services they've earned. There's so much to know...and so many changes from one year to the next. That's why the non-profit Disabled American Veterans offers help. The DAV Mobile Service Office will be at the Springfield Veterans Center, 1985 Main St., on June 17 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. to personally provide the best counseling and claim filing assistance available. Like all DAV services, help from the Mobile Service Office is free to all veterans and members of their families.

FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS
The Greater Westfield Emergency Food Pantry, 101 Meadow St., needs help to keep its shelves stocked with non-perishable food items. The pantry is seeking monetary or food donations as well as volunteers. Hours of operation: Monday - Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m. to noon and Thursday 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

WEST SPRINGFIELD
SWINGLES SQUARE DANCE CLUB
The Swingles Square Dance Club will host a mainstream dance "Scrumptious Strawberries Nite" on June 19.
