The East Longmeadow School Committee is inviting the public to the grand opening of the last set of new classrooms at Meadow Brook Elementary on Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m., with the ribbon cutting taking place at 7 p.m.
WNEBL MEETING
The Western New England Bead League (WNEBL) announces its next meeting on Oct. 19 from 5 - 7 p.m. "Gearing up for the Holidays" is our theme and members and guests will see many new ideas for jewelry and decorating. Entries to the WNEBL Challenge will be judged throughout the meeting. WNEBL welcomes members to this meeting at no charge and guests are welcome to attend for $5. BASEBALL EVALUATIONS
Attention parents of E.L. Bronco baseball players: due to inclement weather of Sept. 27, fall baseball evaluations have been rescheduled for all. Bronco "A" and "B" evaluations will now take place on Oct. 11 from 3 - 5 p.m. at Heritage Park.

ELCAT PRESENTATION/WORKSHOP
Come find out what your community access TV is really all about and how you can get involved on a personal level. Director Don Maki will be at the Pleasant View Senior Center, 328 North Main St., on Oct. 10 from 9 - 10 a.m. to speak about how residents can participate with their cable access television station. Don will also be taking sign-ups for a free five-week workshop taking place on Friday mornings from 9 - 11 a.m., beginning Oct. 17 at his ELCAT studio at the high school.

THE ROCKIN ROBIN
Dave Mindell,"The Rocki'n Robin' will perform a concert at the Gazebo at the Ludlow Green on Sunday Oct 12th from 6 to 8pm. Audiences all over New England have enjoyed his exiting show which is free to the public and won't end untill everyone is singing and dancing like birds.
POLISH HERITAGE MONTH
The Polish Pulaski Club announced that on Oct. 12 at noon the club will host its annual ceremony at Pulaski Park in the center of Easthampton to commemorate Pulaski Day. There will be a wreath laying ceremony. John W. Scibak and Mayor Michael Tautznik will address the gathering. By invitation of Benjamin Franklin in 1777, General Casmir Pulaski came to the colonies and was then made 1st General Cavalry Officer by George Washington. Shortly after, he organized the independent Pulaski Legion. General Pulaski, known as the American father of Cavalry, died Oct. 11, 1790. The public is invited to attend.
FALL RUMMAGE/BAKE SALE

PIONEER VALLEY STAMP CLUB
The Pioneer Valley Stamp Club will meet on Oct. 14 and 28 at the First United Church of Christ on Route 5 (corner of Longmeadow and Williams Streets). Activities for the evening include a mini-auction and a short meeting. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a shop and swap. DADS AND DONUTS
Are you Looking for a great activity for kids and their dads? The Youth Service Dept. at the Storrs Library will host Dads & Donuts, a special Saturday activity on Oct. 18. Everyone is invited for an hour of coffee, juice, donuts and crafts. The deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 4 election is Oct. 15. The Town Clerk's office will be open until 8 p.m. that day. Any questions or to verify registration, call the Town Clerk at 565-4103.
MATERNAL ASSOCIATION MEETING
The first meeting of the 2008/09 year will feature Linda Lehman, owner of Three Sisters Gourmet Chocolate of 2341 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Lehman will speak about "The History of Chocolate" and present samples, exhibit items for sale and answer questions from members and guests. Following the presentation a fall tea will take place. The public is invited as we kick off the 173rd year that Longmeadow Maternal Association has served our community. The meeting will be Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Longmeadow Community House.

ADVENTURES IN WRITING
A new creative writing class welcomes all levels of writers. Not an academic class, but an opportunity to develop and sharpen a personal writing style. AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM
The Longmeadow Adult Center will host an AARP sponsored two-day refresher Driving Course on Oct. 14 and 16 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. It is designed to create an awareness of the physical changes that we experience as we age and how we can compensate for these changes. There is no fear of failing or threat to your license. Attendance required on both days. An eight hour course with $10 fee for materials. Register at 565-4150.
BUILDING BUDDIES
On Oct. 11 from 11 - 11:45 a.m. kids in kindergarten to grade two are invited to Building Buddies, a new book group, at the Storrs Library. The program consists of a story and discussion, a snack and a Lego or Duplo activity. Children will design, build and display a Lego structure relating to the book that is read. SENIOR MEN'S VOLLEYBALL

RED CROSS SWIM LESSONS
Ages 4 - 18. All levels taught by our experienced lifeguards. Class levels may be combined depending on enrollment. Children should be comfortable in the water and toilet-trained. SPRINGFIELD WOMEN'S CLUB
The Springfield Women's Club will host its first meeting of the year on Oct. 15 at Reeds Landing, 807 Wilbraham Rd. The luncheon will begin at 10:15 a.m. with "The Food Dude," radio personality John Walters, who will share ideas on what we eat. Our talented chef will prepare a tasty treat on the spot. In addition Walters will share his views on the best places in the area to dine out. The program will be followed by a short business meeting and lunch in the dining room. GOSPEL CONCERT
St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 45 Buckingham St., will have a Gospel Concert at the church on Oct. 26. The concert is a fundraiser for replacement of the present heating system. Time: 5 p.m. Cost: $10 per person. There will be several local artists that include, the featured artist will be Evenus Thompson. TUESDAY MORNING MUSIC CONCERT
Tuesday Morning Music Concerts will present their gala program on Oct. 7 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 361 Sumner Ave., at 10:30 a.m. Artists on the program include Lisa Woods, mezzo-soprano, and Joel Martin, piano. This is the 107th season of the Tuesday Morning Music Club. Individual concerts are $10; membership for all 12 season concerts is $30. All are welcome to join.
