CHARITY BIKE RIDE

The Agawam Lioness Club is sponsoring a trip to Mohegan Sun on Nov. 15. We will leave the Agawam High School parking lot at 1 p.m. and return by 9 p.m. We will spend five hours at Mohegan Sun. The Mass. Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren will be visiting the Chicopee Senior Center to assess the needs of Commonwealth grandparents and kin raising children on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. Established to help grandparents with legal, educational, health, economic and emotional issues, the commission will serve as a resource for state agencies, legislators, the executive branch and private agencies in determining policy and practice. Community Fall Festival
The annual Blessed Sacrament Community Fall Festival will take place this year on Columbus Day, Oct. 12. It will take place at 1945 Northampton St. Rte. 5, on the church grounds. The event will begin with an outdoor liturgy at 8:30 a.m. and will continue until 4 p.m. Included will be food, crafters, games for all ages, bake sale, bingo, entertainment, many raffles and information booths. On Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a Garden Talk: Cooking with Herbs part 2. Master Gardener Chris Brown is back to give a cooking demo of how to enhance the flavor and healthfulness of meals every day using garden herbs, as well as a discussion on how to grow these garden herbs.
