Seen here is the sculpture, “In Your Honor.” Westfield artist Jennifer Dorgan wrote, “I have collected the photographs of local soldiers, men and women, from Chicopee and Westfield and all the surrounding area. I began receiving photos back in May and received my last one June 22. Fortunately, I was able to fit all that I received! They are painted in black and blue, to reflect their collective bruises from their service. The poppies underneath and on the sides are a lovely juxtaposition next to these hard working people, the flower we honor our soldiers with. An American eagle portrait, with our flag as a backdrop sits on the nose of the plane. The base will be completed with a New England mountain and river that the plane will fly over.” Reminder Publications photo by G. Michael Dobbs
