EAST LONGMEADOW – Travis Best, former NBA professional and Springfield native, showed support for state Senate candidate Eric Lesser by visiting the campaign headquarters on Aug. 8.

Lesser explained to Reminder Publications he had met Best’s sister, who arranged the meeting, while campaigning door-to-door.

Best, who played for the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks and the New Jersey Nets, spent about a half hour greeting about 25 Lesser supporters who showed up for the impromptu visit including a former NBA referee, Saul Finestone.
