Never in the 50-plus years I have lived and voted in East Longmeadow, have I seen such an overwhelming turnout as there was for the Presidential election on Nov. 6.|
What had the potential of being a traffic nightmare in the streets, the parking lot and the polling place, turned out to be problem free, with traffic flowing continuously with no bottlenecks in any venue.
Bravo to the planners!
Whoever conceived of the new traffic pattern and the idea that voters wait seated in their cars rather than standing in a crowded gymnasium, deserves kudos. The policemen who actually controlled the traffic, did an outstanding job keeping the pattern moving smoothly. The poll workers, as always, expedited the process. Everyone involved deserves our gratitude and thanks for a job well done.
