Heating oil company comes through in pinch
Sometimes, Christmas does come early and that can lead into a happy new year.
On Thursday Dec. 19, 2013, our half century old gas furnace failed. After many telephone calls, the earliest replacement times were quoted to be after the new year started. Even with the warmer December weather at the time, it appeared we were in for some long cold days and nights. But a contractor was found who was able to commit to nearly immediate relief.
We had a new energy efficient gas unit installed by 5 p.m. Dec. 20, 2013. And the price including installation was almost 40 percent less than the next lowest quote. We were in a bind, colder weather was predicted, but the price wasn’t inflated due to the emergency need.
And as an extra gift of cost savings, the unit is also eligible for an energy rebate.
It was wonderful to find a company that still works on the concept that a telephone conversation and verbal handshake are as good as a written contract. Thanks to Marty and the very professional crew of installers from Central Oil Company who proved It does pay to shop locally, it was a warm and merry Christmas and will be a happy and warm new year winter too.
