| I am presently the Commander of Post 64 of the Italian American War Veterans of East Longmeadow. Our organization has a membership of war veterans and associate members. |
Our membership dues and our hall rentals net us substantial funds to pay for our maintenance, upkeep and repairs. Since we are a non-profit organization, we take pride in donating our excess funds to charities such as the Shriner's Hospital, the Baystate Children's Miracle Network, the Holyoke Soldier's Home and the East Longmeadow High School Scholarship Fund… to name a few!
We have received citations from State Representative Angelo Puppolo and State Senator Gale Candaras for our generosity in donating to these organizations which we proudly display in our front hall.
Over the years our dumpsters and our grounds have been used as a dumping site for people who don't want to pay the price to get rid of it themselves.
Unfortunately, the money we pay to get rid of the trash they leave is taken from our excess funds that would normally go to various charities.
I ask you to please stop doing this! If you continue to do this, at least have the decency to donate the money you save to these charities and may God bless you for doing so!
