While I was standing out campaigning for a candidate at at Birchland Park School during the East Longmeadow preliminary town election on March 12, it was troubling to observe the long line of cars driven by parents waiting with their engines running for up to 20 minutes to pick up their children and to see how few of them pulled into the parking lot and used the waiting time to go in and vote. |
At the upcoming town election on April 9, I urge everyone to get out and vote. The major race is for a seat on the Board of Selectmen. The winner will have significant influence on your tax rate, town services, and property values.
Please, listen to the candidates, make your choice, and then take the time to vote.
