Thanks Jones and Loving for resolving library impasse
After six long years, Mason Square is going to get its library back where it belongs, thanks, in the end, to the unanimous vote of the City Council and the action of Mayor Sarno. But it took a lot of work by a lot of people to bring about this good result. A lot of ground work was done by people in the Mason Square neighborhoods and around the city of Springfield. But it really took off when Mo Jones and Ruth Loving took up the fight two years ago.
I'd like to thank Mr. Jones and Ms. Loving for breaking the ice among the African-American community in order to bring forward the return of the Mason Square Library to its rightful place in the center of the community.
