|Earlier this month, my daughter Rebecca requested permission for a roadblock on our street so that family, friends and neighbors could gather for my surprise 50th birthday party Permission was granted, and a great time was had by all.|
Years ago, in this same town, when I was very young, not that long ago considering that 50 is the new 30, our neighborhood had a block party every summer. It was a great way of bringing everyone together for one afternoon. I'm so grateful that with all of today's protocols and red tape, that events such as mine can still be enjoyed.
I extend a sincere thank you to the Board of Selectman and the Department of Public Works for your commitment to the residents of our town.
