Thank you American Legion Wilson Thompson Post 185

For the past several months the American Legion Post on Springfield Street has hosted a fish fry on Thursday evenings. The purpose of this endeavor was to raise money for Legion Baseball and The Legions Honor Guard. A mighty band of volunteers, lead by Guy Remington, worked tirelessly each Thursday to cook and serve a wonderful variety of seafood dinners to the community. This impressive effort by the following individuals: Gene Mecure, Linda Keating, Sam Gallant, Gert Spagnoli, Steve Cimma, Bill Donavon, Sue Andrews, Keith Wycoff, Fawn Mazzei and Evy Saleh, deserve a round of applause. Through their efforts, after expenses, they raised over $2,500 so that young people can play American Legion Baseball, to assist and support the American Legion Honor Guard. In a time when so many are so busy with their own lives, it is noteworthy to acknowledge and thank these unselfish individual who stepped forward. From the cooks, to the waitresses, to the cleanup crew and not to be forgotten, the cookies makers who donated those delectable cookies, which made this fund raiser a success as well as a great Thursday evening dinner. As someone who enjoyed these Thursday dinners, I thought that they deserved a hearty thank you to everyone involved. Rosemary Sandlin Post 185 Auxiliary Member
