Falcons 'break out the blue' for troops

SPRINGFIELD The Springfield Falcons are proud to announce that they have partnered with the Aaron's Sales and Lease Ownership for the second Annual "Break Out the Blue for the Troops Night" on Feb. 7 at the MassMutual Center.

"Aaron's is thrilled to be back as a partner with the Falcons on this special event," David Edwards, president and COO of SEI/Aaron's, said. "As a company, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the troops and we can't wait to see the Nest all in blue for Feb. 7."

The "Break Out the Blue Night" will feature the Falcons team in commemorative camouflage jerseys that will be auctioned off on eBay following the game to benefit Homes For Our Troops. Homes For Our Troops is an organization that builds adaptive homes for severely injured troops. Homes For Our Troops, in conjunction with Bank of America branches, are collecting donations for a project to build Army Sgt. Peter Rooney a home.

The Falcons, along with Liberty Tax Service, are collecting cell phones for soldiers. Each fan who brings a cell phone to the game will receive a free ticket to the Feb. 17 game against the Portland Pirates.

The event will also include Tickets For The Troops. The program encourages season ticket holders, corporate partners and fans to donate tickets or funds for area troops and their families.

Those who wish to donate to tickets, or if you are a member of the military and would like to register for tickets, contact Carole Appleton at 348-6372 or at cappleton@falconsahl.com.
