East Longmeadow's Juliete Lajoie, 17, participated in the Speedo Winter Junior. Nationals swim meet that took place Dec. 6 through 8, at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.

A member of the Aquabear, swim team in Windsor Locks, Conn., Lajoie competed in four qualified individual events and two time trials, highlighted personal best time of 2:02.39 in the 200-yard butterfly, which earned her a spot in finals and surpassed the qualifying time for the non-junior USA Winter Nationals.
