Oilers recall defenseman Peckham from the Springfield Falcons

SPRINGFIELD Edmonton Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini has announced that the Edmonton Oilers have placed defenseman Denis Grebeshkov on the National Hockey League's (NHL) Injured Reserve List retroactive to Nov. 1 and have recalled defenseman Theo Peckham from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Grebeshkov has missed the last two Oilers' games on Nov. 2 at Philadelphia and Nov. 5 at Columbus after suffering an upper body injury in Edmonton's 3-1 win at Carolina on Nov. 1. He had scored a goal and four assists in 10 games prior to the injury.

This will be Peckham's second recall to the Oilers this season, having previously joined the team on Oct. 23.

With Springfield, the 6'2", 223-pound defenseman has scored two goals and three assists in nine games to rank fifth in scoring on the Oilers' AHL affiliate. Both of his goals have come on the powerplay and he is even with 24 penalty minutes.

Peckham will wear number 49 with the Oilers.
