Athletic Association golf tourney draws good crowd in first year
EAST LONGMEADOW The East Longmeadow Athletic Hall of Fame Committee hosted a golf tournament attended by over 80 golfers May 24 at The Elmcrest Country Club. Prizes were awarded to the following people:
First place finish with an 11 under: Greg Frigo; Matt Trudeau; Rob Stellato; and Jeremy Shurtleff.
Second place finish: Tom Florence Joe Fimongnari; Bill Sullivan and David Thibault.
Third place finish: Paul Federici; Doug Mellis; Jack Villamaino and Vinnie Villamaino.
Men's longest drive: Greg Frigo.
Women's longest drive: Kathy Hill.
Closest to the pin at hole number seven: Mike Raschilla at 3' 4".
Closest to the pin at hole number 11: Greg Frigo at 11' 8".
High score: Paul Ruscio; Tom Kennedy; Louis Morbito and Fred Rowe.
There were two holes designated as "Hole in One" holes, but neither the large screen TV nor the swimming pool were awarded.
All monies were awarded to the East Longmeadow Athletic Hall of Fame for the enshrinement of the inaugural class.
Twenty-five candidates will be inducted on Nov. 13 at the country club.
