SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield College did well as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEW-MAC) recently announced its All-NEWMAC teams for four of its fall sports.
Each of the four Pride fall sports teams had at least two players chosen to their respective first and second teams.
In men's soccer, Ryan Malone, a freshman midfielder from Chicopee, proved to be Springfield College's top honoree as Rookie of the Year. He was chosen a second team all-conference performer, as were two others.
Springfield men's soccer reached the semifinals of the NEW-MAC post-season tournament, falling to eventual champion Babson, 1-0, and finished 12-8-1.
In women's soccer, second team participants included senior defender Gina Calabrese of East Longmeadow.
In field hockey, on the first team was freshman forward Kelly Gallo of Westfield.
