Coast to Coast Baseball hosts tryouts this month Coast to Coast Baseball would like to invite local players (ages 10-18) to one of their upcoming tryout events. At the tryout, their staff will evaluate your skills in four areas; hitting, fielding, arm strength and speed. Players who are accepted to the program may choose to represent the USA in competition in Puerto Rico, or work with top college coaches and pro scouts at one of their Florida Camp and Showcase events held at MLB spring-training complex.
In addition to the tryout, a three-hour hitting camp will be held the same day. The goal of the camp is to help players improve hitting fundamentals as well as their mental approach at the plate. Events will be held at Fieldhouse Sudbury (indoor turf facility), 31 Union St., Sudbury, Mass., on Sept. 13. Tryout is at 10 a.m. and hitting camp, 2 p.m.
Since the summer of 2001, over 1,600 athletes (ages 11-12, 13-15 and 16-18) from 46 different states have participated in the Coast to Coast Baseball program. Their alumni now compete at every level of collegiate baseball. and even professionally.
