Falcons release scheduling format |

SPRINGFIELD -- The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced recently their 2010-11 scheduling format.
The Falcons will once again play an 80-game schedule, 40 home games and 40 road games.
Springfield will play in the seven-team Atlantic Division located within the Eastern Conference.
Joining the Falcons in the Atlantic Division will be the following teams: Hartford Wolf Pack (NYR), Manchester Monarchs (LA), Portland Pirates (BUF), Providence Bruins (BOS), Worcester Sharks (SJ) and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NYI). Springfield will play a total of 58 of their 80 regular season games within the Atlantic Division.
Springfield will play Bridgeport, Hartford, Providence, Manchester and Portland 10 times each, five home games and five away gmaes. The Falcons will take on Worcester eight times, four home games and four away games.
"We are once again very pleased with our scheduling format for the 2010-11 season," Falcons president and general manager Bruce Landon said. "Our travel schedule will once again allow our players and coaches a tremendous amount of practice time, an aspect of the game that is very important to our National Hockey League affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets."
The Falcons will also play a total of 22 contests against teams i the East Division giving Springfield a total of 80 Eastern Conference match ups for the 2010-11 campaign.
Springfield will play the Albany Devils (NJ), Charlotte Checkers (CAR) and Norfolk Admirals (TB) four times each, while facing the Binghamton Senators (OTT), Hershey Bears (WAS), Adirondack Phantoms (PHI), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (PIT) and Syracuse Crunch (ANA) twice.
The complete schedule will be announced later this summer.
