Falcons sign Johnson to PTO

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League (AHL), announced that forward Chaz Johnson has been signed to a Professional Tryout Agreement.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, attended Falcons’ training camp this year after splitting the 2010-11 campaign between the East Coast Hockey League’s Ontario Reign and AHL’s Manchester Monarchs. Johnson reached the 20-goal plateau last year in Ontario collecting 22 goals, 14 assists and 127 penalty minutes in 61 games.

Has played in 76 career AHL games seeing time with Milwaukee, Rochester, Hershey, Binghamton, and Manchester.

The Springfield Falcons recently announced their first annual “Bowling with the Falcons” event scheduled for Nov. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the AMF Bowling Lanes has been postponed due to the major power outage throughout Western Massachusetts and Connecticut.
