Falcons take two out of three on the road

SPRINGFIELD -- The Falcons won two of three games last weekend and sit in third place in the Atlantic Division (3-3-0-0).

For the second time in a week, the Springfield Falcons went into Providence, R.I. and defeated the Providence Bruins at the Dunkin Donuts Center on Oct. 15. Chad Kolarik, Michael Blunden, and Matt Calvert scored in the shootout, while goaltender David LeNeveu stopped three of four shooters giving the Falcons a 2-1 shootout win.

The Falcons lost to the Portland Pirates 4-2 on Oct. 16 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine.

The Falcons ended their three-game road trip with a solid 3-1 win in Manchester, N.H., on Oct. 17 at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Trevor Frischmon, Cody Goloubef and Tyler Murovich all scored for the Falcons while goaltender Dan Taylor stopped 34 of 35 shots on goal, earning the game's first star.
