Foster sets discus record at Northeast-10 track and field championships for AIC |

NEW HAVEN, Conn. Junior Sanya Foster of Springfield won the discus with a NCAA provisional qualifying and Northeast-10 championship record toss of 44.39 meters and placed second in the shot put with a NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 13.88 meters as the American International College (AIC) women's track & field team placed a program-best fourth of nine teams with a total of 86 points at the 2012 Northeast-10 Outdoor Championships, hosted by Southern Connecticut State University.
Conway receives Mass. Maritime's Foundation Award
BUZZARDS BAY Massachusetts Maritime Acadamy women's soccer & lacrosse standout Kerri Conway of West Springfield received the Foundation Award, which is presented to a female student-athlete who best exemplifies the true spirit and philosophy of Division III athletics on May 9 as the Buccaneer Class of 2012 was honored at the Department of Athletics' Senior Student-Athlete Awards Banquet.
Clark leads WNE to CCC Championship
SPRINGFIELD WNE banged out 10 hits with junior second baseman Tim Clark of West Springfield going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a pair of RBIs as the top-seeded Golden Bears defeated fourth-seeded Roger Williams 6-3 to capture the CCC Baseball Championship on May 7.
Clark also delivered an RBI single in the eighth inning to score the game-winning in a 7-6 win over Endicott College that helped boost the Golden Bears to the championship.
AIC's Clark named All-NE10
SOUTH EASTON West Springfield's Dave Clark was one of three American International College basbeall players to be selected to the 012 Northeast-10 All-Conference Baseball Team.
Clark started in all but two of his 44 games played this season, and led the team with a .349 batting average, 58 hits, 18 extra base hits, five homers, three triples and 36 runs scored. He was second on the team with 26 RBIs and 11 steals, and tied for third with 10 doubles.
Clark batted .321 in 28 conference games with 36 hits, eight doubles, two triples, two homers 14 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
Madera, Owls' relay place sixth
CAMBRIDGE Southwick's Zack Madera competed as part of the Westfield State University track and field team's 4x100 relay squad which placed sixth with a time of 42.50 seconds at the All-New England outdoor track and field championships on May 11 and 12 at the Massachuestts Institute of Technology.
He also finished 11th in 100 meters (11.03 seconds) and 15th in 200 meters (22.34) to earn a spot on the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference outdoor track and field honor roll.
