SPRINGFIELD — The Western New England University (WNE) baseball team's junior second baseman Tim Clark of West Springfield put an exclamation point on a season to remember by being selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III All-America First Team on May 24 at the Division III World Series Banquet in Appleton, Wis.

Clark also was the recipient of the ABCA Gold Glove Award after making only six errors in 244 chances for a .975 fielding percentage.

A two-year starter, Clark batted a team high.428 in 51 games for the Golden Bears this spring. He also led the squad in slugging (.551), on-base percentage (.464), triples (5), and collected 80 hits, which tied the school record set last year by junior third baseman Mike Rubino.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Clark also had a 24-game hitting streak during the season and led Western New England with 25-multi hit performances.

Earlier in the week Clark was selected to the D3baseball.com All-America Second Team. He was the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player-of-the-Year and an All-CCC First Team honoree.

Clark, a left-handed hitter who batted fourth in the lineup most of the season, also made the All-New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Division III First Team and was voted to the NCAA Division III New England Regional All-Tournament Team.

Clark is a Political Science major.

WNE posted a 38-13 record this past season, which included a 15-1 mark for first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). The Golden Bears captured their fifth consecutive CCC Championship and seventh straight league title, and placed second in the NCAA Regional.
