Hoophall Classic boasts marquee teams |

SPRINGFIELD The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will showcase the top five ranked teams from the newly released ESPN RISE Fab 50 team rankings.
The 2011 event marks the 10th anniversary of the Spalding Hoophall Classic.
The classic will take place at Springfield College's Blake Arena from Jan. 14 to 17 during Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.
The top five ranked teams include No. 1 Findlay College Prep from Henderson, Nev., No 2 Oak Hill Academy from Mouth of Wilson, Va., No. 3 Milton High School from Milton, Ga., No. 4 St. Patrick High School from Elizabeth, N.J. and No. 5 St. Anthony High School from Jersey City, N.J.
Numerous games from the 2011 Spalding Hoophall Classic will be televised nationally. Information on these broadcasts will be available shortly.
Other ranked programs scheduled to participate include No. 8 Christ the King High School from Middle Village, N.Y., No. 9 Bishop Gorman High School from Las Vegas, No. 14 DeMatha Catholic High School from Hyattsville, Md., No. 18 Boys and Girls High School from the Bronx, N.Y.. and No. 22 Taft High School from Los Angeles, Calif.
Recent alumni from the Spalding Hoophall Classic have included 43 McDonald's All Americans and 34 Jordan Brand Classic All-Americans since 2007. The class of 2010 was highlighted by Jared Sullinger from Ohio State, Kyrie Irving from Duke, Tobias Harris from Tennessee, Cory Joseph from Texas and Brandon Knight from Kentucky.
Furthermore, 13 alumni from the Spalding Hoophall Classic were selected in the 2010 NBA Draft this past June including lottery picks Derrick Favors from New Jersey, DeMarcus Cousins from Sacramento, Al-Farouq Aminu from the Los Angeles Clippers, Xavier Henry from Memphis and Ed Davis from Toronto.
In addition to the game, Spalding also sponsors the Spalding Skills Challenge. The Skills Challenge features three events including the Spalding Half-Court Hustle, Spalding 3-Point Shootout and the Spalding Slam Dunk Contest at Blake Arena on Jan. 16.
An associated youth tournament, Junior Hoophall Classic, will return this year with details located at www.basket-bull.org.
